Pin of the Day: Hand trampoline

The pin says "This is what you draw on your kid's hand to keep them busy for 30 minutes". I'm thinking 5 minutes, tops, and I'm pretty sure that's a tattoo (red, hurty skin around it is a dead giveaway), but this is still rather cute.

Just a thing about pictures of tattoos on the internet: why do people take the picture right after they get the tattoo? So all the skin is puckered and sore looking and... well, I know it's probably because the ink slinger took the picture of his / her work and put it out there and it's unlikely that they'll ever see their 'client' again. But, let's face it, those ouchy shots are very off putting for people like me who are scaredy-cats but want to get inked. I think a nice pic a week or two after pressing would be much, much nicer and would make it so much easier for me to suck it up and just go and get the darn tatt.

Not sure of the original origin of this pin*, but click on the image above to see the pin and follow the trail!

Do you have a tattoo to share with the group?

* Edit: Now I am! It belongs to Sara Richards. Hi Sara.

I always think the same thing about those immediate-post-tattooing snaps.

I don't remember the pain from my tatt any more than I remember the pain from 3 natural childbirths. Does that help? It is different though...getting a tattoo is a gritting-your-teeth kind of pain as compared to that childbirth-ripping the head-right-off-your-partner's-shoulders kind of pain.

I have my yuppy tattoo- a rose on my right shoulder blade.

What is it with this whole tattoo compulsion that everyone seems to have these days? I know i'll be offending lots of people by going against the trend, but I just don't get it.

I think part of the reason too is that often, a tatt will never look as neat or as good as when it's freshly done. The sun fades the inks to green, the ageing process causes the skin to sag etc. My first thought when I saw that was "that would make an awesome tatt" and I don't even have one.

I thought I was probably the only one who thought that Bron! Just a week or two and it would look so much nicer. xx

Cuteness! That would keep *me* busy for at least 30 minutes!

This is my tattoo and it's kept me busy for about a year now of having it. Also, thanks for not claiming this picture as yours, too many people out there have.
