This week I'm grateful for... reflection

I've had a week of quiet contemplation, one way or another.

Firstly, I had to really get a grip on myself earlier in the week because I was spazzing a bit about the Kidspot Top 50 Bloggers comp. Seriously, how many shades of sad and needy can I turn? Don't worry, I slapped myself around the face and I woke up to myself and I wrote this post and I feel much better about the whole darn thing.

Secondly, I've been reassessing those juggling balls again this week. I'm taking on too much again and it's eating into my important sitting down time.

Thirdly, a few work things have been shaken up a bit and... I'm shaken up a bit. Rolled, but not rattled, so to speak. All is well, but I'm having to find my feet AGAIN and it's getting harder and harder to roll with the punches, to be honest.

And just today, a blogger that I love included me in her post in a way that I am very comfortable with, but... it's made me think once again about the heavy power of words.

So, this week I'm grateful for...

127. Reflection - taking the time to stop for a minute and think about the way things are.

128. Expression - I am so glad that I seem to be able to express my true meaning and have others understand what I am trying to say (for the most part, god knows there are some doozy exceptions!) Many people struggle with this so much so it's an ability that I am very grateful for indeed.

129. Remembering - where we've come from, what plans we had, the map we followed and how far along the road we are.  My sister has a linky on Saturdays that perfectly reminds us to do this with our blogs. Come join in!

So, what's making you smile today? Add your I'm Grateful For post to the list below (and please, we love you, but it really does matter that your post is a Grateful one and not just a random), add the button (grab the code from my sidebar and paste it into your post) andpretty-please add a link back to me.  Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are spreading a little sunshine.

I love 127 - stopping and thinking about the way things are. Things have been moving rather fast here of late and my holiday in Melbourne last week allowed me time to stop and figure out what it is that's important to me.
Interested in your sister's linky too!! xx

I was nodding along in agreement with all of your post. All great things to be grateful for.

Life throws as obstacles but it is up to us as to how we view and overcome them.

I have been doing alot of reflection lately, but not in a good way.

That is an awesome image you've found there.

I've been doing a bit of your #129 lately.
Especially remembering how far along the road I have come in so many respects.

I just followed over your link to the "power of words" you referred to. It is a reminder to me of how amazing the blogging platform is. It offers us all a chance to get a glimpse into another individual's world which I think is so important. The chance to walk in another person's shoes and see things from the "other" side. And, that as you say, words have a lot of power. Hope some of the commenters from your post got to read Kirrily's perspective

And wishing you good luck at work too

Gill xo

You have a way with words which makes everything you write so easy to understand and visualize.
Hope you get more time out this weekend.

It's always good to reflect. Often hard to find time though.

You do have a knack for expressing yourself and I love that you dare to say the things many of us are thinking, but don't know how to properly express for ourselves. I relate to your blog whole heartedly.
P.S. And thank you for the comments on my blog today, it means a great deal to have you visit and share your thoughts with me... they are very valuable thoughts to receive xo

Good luck with the reflecting. Allowing ourselves time to reflect is often the hardest part and it looks like you are doing a great job.

Dear Maxabella....loved reading ur post today. And as I read it, I felt as if a deep musical voice in the inner soul from yours to mine reached me..You know there have been times when I have felt I speak too much unnecessarily, and then I feel sad. A friend of mine has told me that I have the 'power' which many others don't. I can express my self in words, truly what I'm.An this I share with you too:) Indeed reflection is such an important thing in life..And that was very amusing and I congratulate u for ditching this comppt. I've been crazily blogging since sometime and it's now I 've realized that blogging itself is like a MART. Where you see so many colorful things, but u gotta limit urself to some, else surely one is bound to get crazy....;) That's all. Tkcr. Have a great weekend:)

When it all goes awry, or when you are feeling overwhelmed, nothing is as important as reflection. I alway seem to forget that! Thanks for this beautiful reminder!

Thank you for reminding me that I do need to take the time to reflect on all the things that have happened in my life. I forget to "take the time to smell the roses". I have enjoyed your blog. Best to you!

Is it still okay to say "spazzing"?

I hope so

I'm grateful for wine - mainly because it is the only reason I've ever got lucky.

Reflection is a good thing. Sometimes we get too caught up in our lives to slow down and reflect.

I hope everything with your job works out for the best :)

Have a great weekend!

I love what you said about remembering where you've been, what plans we've had, the map we followed, and how far along the road we are.
Very much in tune with where I am right now!
And I love what you said about expression.
And thanks for the email! That was sweet of you :)

Words are indeed powerful. That is one things I've witnessed again and again in the blogosphere, both the positive and negative aspects of that, though mostly the positive. Thanks, as ever, for reminding us all to sit back and reflect on those things for which we are grateful. x

Reflection is so important - something most of us don't do enough of until we're forced to - I've been doing so much of that lately.

And yes - words are so powerful. Words of encouragement can lift us so high - but the opposite can hit us where it hurts!

Thanks for your support and comments of my newish blog :-) xx

I get a bit spazzy too sometimes. The trick, as you know, is to realise the problems and do something about it. A great post, clear as a bell. I do hope you get some time to just sit this weekend. gxo

Number 128 resonates with me..sometimes the speed reading commenters hone in on something I haven't quite said...and give me credit for cushions I haven't made! Oh well..I'm sure I've done that to others when I am sitting here at past 10 pm and my eyes are hanging out for some rest..lol.

I won't lie. I'm grateful for ice cream and pizza today. The kids put me through the ringer, and I ate lots. Of both.

Also, I'm an only child, and I turned out okay ... I think. =>

I'm grateful for reflection too, how can we move forward better people, if we never look back and learn? Deep thoughts. http://abookagirlajourney.blogspot.com
