Aha! Blogger is back!
So, where was I? That's right...
I can’t remember the last time I went out drinking on a Monday night… maybe I’ve never done it? Monday drinking just seems so… committed. And foolhardy. That’s certainly how I felt when I woke up on Tuesday and realised that I’d somehow come down with a terrible virus overnight. Isn’t it funny how that happens? And then the realisation: oh my freakin’ god, it’s only Tuesday.
Of course it was the crazy, social world of blogging that had me out on a school night. For the first time ever I mixed my URL with my IRL* and met a whole bunch of bloggers at the Kidspot Top 50 Bloggers** launch party. Highlight was definitely knocking back a couple of contraband ciggies in a back laneway, in the rain with Woogsy, BabyMac and Lori. Hardcore. Felt like I was eighteen again. There were so many fabulous bloggers there that I can’t mention them all, but a quick shout out to Chantelle, Kirrily, Fox in Flats, Kellie Kerri, Farmer’s Wifey, Clare, Caitlyn and, of course, that gorgeous gal PPMJ.
So, this week I’m grateful for…
124. Monday night drinking – ‘cos it’s just so great to invest in shaking things up and doing new stuff, even if you have to pay for it the next day. I actually think the majority of my hangover was mainly due to the 227 cigarette I smoked (I haven’t been a ‘smoker’ in about eight years!) and the 1768 shelled peanuts I ate at the laneway bar we washed up in. Couldn't have been those,oh, 3 wines I drank... right?
125. IRL – I’m so glad I now know some of our lovely bloggers IRL.
126. URL – But I’m equally as glad that I still love them (and so many, many more) in URL.

I am glad you had a great night out mixing your IRL with your online one.
I have a monday night drinking session coming up in a couple of weeks which I have been feeling very apprehensive. Mainly because weekdays are usually very quiet for me and I like it like that. You've reminded me that I will probably really enjoy doing something social during the week. Glad you had a good time and am a tiny bit jealous that so many people got to meet you IRL.
ahhh, and what a fabulous Monday night it was. what a shame Tuesday rolled around so fast. Lovely to meet you (in the flesh) Ms Maxabella.

I went out on a Monday night a few weeks ago when a good friend was in town and it was fun...but made the rest of the week so hard!

ahhhhh i love the mid-week (or should i day first day of the week) drink-ies! wow-ee i can just imagine you carving up the conversation, being the light of the party and just generally having on hellava time. i think i'm some what jealous about such an evening!! All those wonderful people you've meet. nice to put faces to blogs, and voices to typed words. all with alcohol, ciggies and no children! whooo hoo! xx

Oh Bron, I'm so excited you were able to meet other bloggers. This must have been a big thing for you! First time IRL! You're so cute. And cigarettes always made me feel worse than drinking. Of course, I don't do either anymore, but still. So glad you had a wonderful time. I should have responded to my request for the top 50. Dammit! Next year, maybe...

lol, I don't drink at all, but love the glasses in your pic. :) So thats what made me smile today.
That and the adorable things my kids say and do every day.

Hooray for a week night out! I always tend to say no to these & in the last couple of weeks I've said yes, & boy is it worth the tiredness & struggle through the rest of the week!
