This week I'm grateful for... little bits of lovely

Anyone who reads my blog (or probably even just glances at it) will know that I love a pretty picture. For me, the world  has always been a colourful pageant of visual moments that I process and capture inside to keep for whenever I need a lift. A bottomless well of loveliness that I draw from every day.

The smallest thing can make me pleased for days.

So, this week I'm grateful for...

109. My spool of twine - the twine is rough and a bit earthy. The spool is battered and wooden. I can't stop looking at you.

110. My trug - I don't even have a vegie patch for you to assist with produce carriage, and to use you to bring in my little grabs of herbs is just ridiculous, but use you I must.

111. A ric-racked hemline - the smallest hint of ric-rac and I'm in love with little girls all over again.

So, what's making you smile today? Add your I'm Grateful For post to the list below (and please, we love you, but it really does matter that your post is a Grateful one and not just a random), add the button (grab the code from my sidebar and paste it into your post) and pretty-please add a link back to me.  Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are spreading a little sunshine.

Happy weekend to you!

Thank you, dear sis, MultipleMum for hosting us last week. I think lots of new friends were made.

Oh, and enjoy meeting up with our British lovelies via Michelle's 1,2, 3 Cheerful at Mummy From The Heart.

The world would be a much happier place if we could all appreciate the little things more often.

English is not my first language and I thought I was quite good at it, but I'll need a dictionary to translate your post. I am sorry to say that I am unfamiliar with the items you've mentioned (or at least with the words that represent them). Am I missing out?

Pretty spools! :)

Much as I appreciate my washing machine and microwave, they can never be as pretty as the simple household tools/gadgets, can they.

Ok, I get what twine is, but have NO IDEA what a trug or a ric-racked hemline is.

I'm SO not handy like that.

I love your pics too. :) x

Love twine. Also slightly obsessed with linen threads for tying up brown paper packages :)

What is it with our obsession for beautiful things, things with texture, objects of unusual shape and size? Beautiful!

Just thinking of ric rack makes me smile!

I love that you love a great picture! Thanks for brining them to us. The twine is inspired.

yes and yes, ric rac just makes anything that extra bit sweeter.

What will you do with the twine?

I am grateful for some warmer weather and watching my boy play outside!

What a great idea, I will try and join in the next one. I was looking fondly at ric-rac yesterday and wondering which dress to make next for my little girl. Love the twine, I totally get the love!

Happy weekend

So love ric rac too! Always makes me think of Holly Hobby (don't ask me why)...but I can totally sympathise with comments above on the whole 'trug' thing...no idea - oh wait, just googled it folks - it's a classic wooden basket thing (the really shallow one you see people collecting long stemmed flowers in).
Yay for learning something new today :-)
have a great weekend Maxabella

I'm a sucker for a pretty picture. Enough so that I view the world in frames, for good or bad! Loving the twine.

I too am non-educated on the loveliness of ric-rac or trucs. Please explain? x

monkeemoomoo said...

And here I was thinking that I needed a thriving vegie patch before I could justify a trug. I want one! even if just to bring in a handful of fresh parsley:) which is about all my garden is producing.

And yes, twine and ric-rac - little lengths of happiness:)

Tammi said...

Ah...I too love twine and have mine on display as a piece of art :)

What is a trug? I must go google or I will be left wondering...

Love that picture of the twine and I love your list of simple things to be grateful for.

Tania said...

I get the string thing, I do. And also the trug thing. Sometimes it just all has to be about the ceremony. Like tea in a teapot with jugs of milk and sugar cubes and floating tea leafy bits...
