After writing my Grateful post a few days ago, I couldn't help but go on a bit of a twine spree (as you do). I confess that I have loads of the stuff, all different kinds. Can't get enough. It's the kind of stuff that makes me get all itchy I love it so much. Really, what's wrong with me!?
I was going to show you spools and spools of the good stuff, but it just looked, well, kinda like a whole lot of string. Which really didn't help build my case. So here we go... yummy twine in action.
Come take an etsy with me (I'm entering 'etsy' into the dialogue as an adjective. It means 'journey into a wonderous rabbit hole; pack a sandwich and flask, we're going to be a while'...)

Oh my! And now I feel another garland-fetish post coming on... stay tuned!
Do you get toey for the tiey stuff too? Is there another simple old thing that makes you happy?

Aaah, I love all the little bits and pieces that are paper-ish, to tie with or to wrap things in, to write in or doodle on. I have twice stopped myself from buying some of the gorgeous striped twine but you aren't helping. I am sure that I could use it for something...
Looks like a great inspiration for a scrap! Lovely post!
I totally understand the twine love! and I absolutely love the image of the twine on the gorgeous wooden spools!
I too love twine! And am also a sucker for simple old fashioned plain brown paper - great for wrapping...and can be so nicely teamed up with twine, ahhhh pretty :-)

I must admit i do have a love for twine. i was always into the rustic looking stuff until last year i discovered (along with the rest of the world) the candy stripy twine. i use it on everything. As Cate said - great with the classic brown paper. I also went through a bit of a lace phase too with brown paper...
you really are a girl aren't you?
'Brown paper packages..tied up with string...these are a few of my fav-or-ite things'..I've heard that before somewhere...mmm..still love them though!
I must admit that I've never really thought about twine before this post of yours. Now I am thinking about all the fabulous things I can do with it!!!
I love ribbons. All different thicknesses, colours, patterns, pictures. Then the textures, smooth, coarse, shiny and bumpy. I always keep the ribbon from gifts I'm given, in a large circular box. There is something almost childlike about opening the lid and seeing all those pretty colours coiled together.
I sometimes use them again on presents I give... it's like sharing the love that extra bit :o)
P.S. Your twine obsession is truly fascinating, though I'm not saying that you couldn't sway me to being a fan also, after seeing these pics xo
Love it! I use twine to package my orders. I love the simplicty of twine and brown paper. It always reminds me of the sound of music - "brown paper packages tied up with string..."
Twine is lovely. I have been thinking of buying some to crochet with....just havent got any yet. Do you order yours online?
Gorgeous! I love those images and I love twine too! There are so many things I get all freaky and obsessy about...rolling pins, fowler bowls, old scales, stationary, stamps, rooflines, garden stakes! The list is endless. So much to love in this life;)
Have you discovered the website...pinterest.
I am sure you will find a lot of twin goodies on their.
xx
I'd paid more than a little too much to have twine delivered from overseas. It's love, I tell ya! x
I had never even thought about loving twine, or string, or threads....but now you picture it...I can see why...xx
I didn't think I loved twine, but after looking at those pictures I realise that I do. x
oh poor Glen - his comments crack me up!
yes, love the twine thingy and it transports to any kind of tie-up-uble item, like ribbon or the selvage from my fabric stash - honestly i think i can find a use for just about anything!!!
I've always had a thing for ribbons and string but it wasn't until I ventured into the 'rabbit hole' that is blogging that I discovered that twine is such a big ticket item for so many people and not just the butcher.
Thanks for the tour, the raisin toast was great and I think I'll have another coffee if I may, pass the thermos please.

I don't know what it is about twine but it makes me go weak at the knees :)
Loving the twine and spools!!
x
I'd never really thought about twine before this, but I completely agree, it is lovely and perfect tying for gift cards and tags together! xo
Loving this new usage of 'etsy'!
Also have a thing for twine too.
Also letterpress dodads.
Sadly as yet I have not found a way to justify collecting random letterpress items. Perhaps should just do it then would have a 'collection' and this in itself would somehow make the purchasing justified...he he he.
Love, love, love twine...especially red and white. Was toying with the idea of using it in my packaging for the shop, but can't justify the added expense just yet. Also ADORE gocco prints...sigh. And anything
by Jess at teddybearswednesday. ;)
So purty!
I reckon your house must be filled with so many lovely things.

LOVE twine and LOVE ribbon! I have a drawer full of the stuff! Nothing makes me happier than buying a gift and then lazily wandering to my ribbon/wrapping drawer and sifting through those little treasures until I find the perfect combination to make that gift look all that! Great post, bring on the garlands! x
Love it!
Oh lovely!!
I'm such a sucker for pretty twine!
Some just arrived in the mail for me today, Bron from Another Donkey Design. And I can vouch for Saratops - I've bought gorgeous tags from her. Mmm, time to crank up that stationery series again ☺. J x
Twine, and bunting, two of my favourites!
I've been a little bit scared to buy any twine, lest I start something I am unable to stop... but.... oh how tempting you are. So do you have any good Australian sources for buying twine? Online would be good...
Oh and I have a garland fetish too, so can't wait to see some more!
isn't it sweet!
old sweets and lollies make me happpy...Turkish Delight and Licorice All Sorts - I like them. MOst people are disgusted by this! I always did like the lollies everyone else left till last
Gill xo
So funny! A couple of times I've hovered over the "buy" button with Twine. Then I think the same thing..it's a massive spool of string! So, I've never bought any.
Oh, how I love twine. And have I mentioned the fact that I have a wrapping desk? Yes, a whole desk just dedicated to wrapping gifts. It contains paper, ribbon, twine (!!!!), and all sorts of things to make a gift even more wonderful.
So yes. Count me in on getting all toey for the tiey stuff. (That's so cute!) xx
That's the first time I've ever done that. Above comment posted by me. Sorry hon! xx
