This week I'm grateful for... new friends

I've ranged this week from 'nurse' to a 'bugged' Cappers (her words); to 'host' of an Australia Day gala; to 'cleaner' as I prepared for and recovered from said gala (such a lot of vacuuming involved when one hosts a party!); to 'proud mumma' as I watched my Tsunamis take to swimming with a vengeance; to 'stressed out and freaking' wife at a little scare LOML gave me today (nothing to worry about!). It's been grand.

I do also admit to going a bit stir crazy, as I always do when faced with a house, three children and me, just me. Not great at being a stay at home mum. I get better after a few days... I need to find my 'home' groove and dance to that. We get there.

So, this week I have lots to be grateful for, but to narrow it down...

1. New friends - how lovely to find newbies that you have lots in common with and really, really like. It's so great to drag out fave stories for an appreciative new crowd. And beyond fab to get to talk about all the stuff like 'how you met' and 'where did you grow up?'... love it.

2. Older children - at 6 and 5 years old, my two bigger Tsunamis are growing into the 'older child' bracket. The bracket where you're at a party and you don't see them for hours. You practically forget you even have children. Of course, a warm, melting Badoo on the lap on a hot day keeps it real.

3. A cool breeze at day's end - we sweltered on Thursday but then a light rain fell and brought with it a cool stirring. Sheer, welcome relief.

So, what's making you smile today? Grab my I'm grateful for... button from my sidebar if you like, add your I'm Grateful For post below and please add a link back to me in your post. Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are spreading a little sunshine. Happy day to you!

Such a lovely list. I'm grateful to YOU for hosting this lovely event each week. And I hear you on number2. I really enjoy parties with the offspring these days because I actually get to hold an uninterrupted conversation.

Oh yes, I love meeting new people who know nothing about you, always fun to share stories and memories in your life. With a 40 degree day coming our way on Sunday, I'm hoping a cool breeze follows suit. x

I love it as the kids get older too. I think I'm more relaxed with the older kids. The 4yo is getting there. Getting there...

I am grateful for Stacia, who led me to you and write Haiku. Is that how you spell it??

And for a willingness to follow the lead of my heart. Because I wasn't always willing to do that. Paid attention to the rules if ya know what I mean.

This is lovely! I will be joining you and adding a blog button. I am grateful for my 3 close buddies/family members who are all still with us and battling on. It's been a hard start to the year, but we are full of hope. x

This is a lovely meme - I look forward to joining you one weekend. I, too, am grateful for new friends. I found lately that my bloggy friends are the ones I turn to during not-so-happy times and they've been wonderful! I am so so grateful for them and this community we're in.

Have a great weekend!

oh you are just cuteness and goodness wrapped up and presenting in a blog - mhaw mhaw for you!! loving independence in children in those wonderful years - my 4.5yr is on his way too! New friends - huh! love it too! as adults we can get a bid rigid and closed off to new comers - will they like me, judge me etc. Unlike 4-5 year olds and that just say "will be you be my friend?" oh if we could just do that! Enjoy a lovely weekend Bronxx

Well Bella this weeks list is a long one but like you happy kids, connecting with others and a cool breeze at the end of a warm day are amongst the dot points.

I thought of you last night as I swayed in our upstairs hammock to the coolest of summer breezes and wondered how long it's been since you've had a chance to do the same? That thought didn't last too long though as I almost fell asleep and was roused out of my reverie by a bloody mosquito [literally]!

I'm starting to love having an almost 5 year old, and can't wait until there's another one. (But enjoying the moments in between.) Cool breezes are delighful after a hot, hot day. What a busy week you've had! Happy Grateful Day, and rest up. xx

What a lovely link-up! I am grateful this week for the quiet days that go smoothly, that at another time in my life would have looked boring but are actually perfection. :)
